Fall and flowers.
I am so happy that fall is officially here. Time to light my pumpkin spice candles, bury my flip flops in my closet, and pull out my scarves and boots. For me it could not have come sooner. This is my favorite season. The colors are gorgeous, I get to wear lots of layers, the best holidays are ahead and everything smells so much nicer.
Lately we've been super busy. Jairo's 27th birthday was just a few days ago. I baked him a double layer cake (my first!) and we went out on a this little Tour of Homes to look at quilts with Jairo's mom and her (awesome) friend from Munich. It was a little stressful because Donnie wasn't the happiest camper, but it was interesting and I got some really good ideas from it (and a handful of free quilting magazines. Yay!) .
I've been making some great progress with Glitter Brigade. Right now I'm working on re-stocking my Etsy shop, and I'm planning on selling at a couple of local craft fairs within the next year. So far it's been really exciting to get back in the swing of things. Hopefully, if I keep this momentum things will go my way!
Donnie inevitably noticed my necklace. On an average day, I pretty much live in ponytails, band tees, and sweatpants because as any parent can tell ya, these nuggets like to grab, pull, yank, and make messes. I ain't complainin', I'm just saying that it's something I'm learning to work around. I considered buying a couple of Chewbead necklaces, but he'd still have a pretty fun time yanking it and watching mommy try not to choke, so that was a no go. It's easier to just not wear jewelry for now. And maybe once the spit-ups are gone for good I'll pull some nicer clothes out. But eh. No real hurry.
